What this is
The Poople Daily is a free word ladder game. Each day you get a four-letter word, and you change one letter at a time, making a real word at every step, until you reach POOP. The fewer moves the better, and finding the shortest route is a perfect score.
The word ladder is an old idea. Lewis Carroll published it in 1877 as “Doublets”. We just gave it a destination that makes people smile.
Not the official Poople
The Poople Daily is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by poople.io.The original daily Poople game lives at poople.io. Everything here is separate: our puzzles, our word list, our scoring and our design.
Because many people play both, we also offer an answer helper for the daily puzzle at poople.io, where you type the starting word you were given, and a word ladder solver that works for any two words. The word lists differ, so a route we find may not match poople.io’s own shortest route.
How our puzzles are made
Every puzzle starts from a familiar four-letter word whose shortest route to POOP uses only familiar words. We compute the shortest route for every puzzle ahead of time, and we keep crude words out of the puzzles, hints and solver routes. Harder puzzles arrive toward the end of the week.
